~Squash is a racquet sport played by two players (or four players for doubles) in a four-walled court with a small, hollow rubber ball. Squash is recognized by the IOC and remains in contention for incorporation in a future Olympic program. Squash has been recognized as the world's healthiest sport.

~The game was formerly called squash racquets, a reference to the "squashable" soft ball used in the game (compared with the harder ball used in its parent game Racquets.


~Court~

~The 'softball' or 'international' court size was codified in London, England in the late 1920s, at 32 ft (9.75 m) long and 21 feet (6.4 m) wide. The front wall was provided with an "out line" 15 feet (4.57 m) above the floor, connected by a raking "out" line meeting the "out" line on the back wall at 7 feet (2.13 m) above the floor. The front wall also has a "service line" (originally called the "cut line") 6 feet (1.83 m) above the floor with a 19 inch high (48 cm) "tin" acting as a 'net' (originally sheeted with metal in order to make a distinctive sound when hit by the ball). The floor is marked with a transverse "half-court" line and further divided into two rear "quarter courts" and two "service boxes", as shown in the diagram above.

~The traditional "American" court for the U.S. game, (now referred to as "hardball squash") is a similar size, but narrower at 18 feet 6 inches (5.64 m). The floor and wall markings differ slightly from the "International" court and the tin is lower, at 15 inches (38 cm) high. However, hardball squash was replaced by softball in America as the standard version of squash and has since almost completely died out.

~A "Converted Court" is the result of converting racquetball courts to squash. Racquetball courts are 20 feet (6.1 m) wide and 40 feet (12.2 m) in length, so it is relatively easy to install a back wall, producing a squash court of 20 feet (6.1 m) wide by 32 feet (9.75 m) long.

~Balls are manufactured to these standards by Prince, Dunlop, Pointfore, Wilson, Black Knight and others. The "double-yellow dot" ball, introduced in 2000, is currently the competition standard, replacing the earlier "yellow-dot" ball. There is also an "orange dot" ball, which is even less bouncy than the "double-yellow dot" ball, intended for use in areas of high altitude such as Mexico City, Calgary, Denver, and Johannesburg. The lower atmospheric pressure at these high altitude regions means that the ball bounces slightly higher, resulting in the need for such a ball.

~Sales of the PSP have (with cyclical exceptions) lagged behind its main competitor, the Nintendo DS.Nevertheless, the console is "the most successful non-Nintendo handheld game system ever sold". After the release of a remodeled, slimmer, and lighter version of the PlayStation Portable, titled Slim & Lite, in early September 2007, sales quadrupled in the United Kingdom the following week and increased by nearly 200% in North America for the month of October. 1) Plan: Ask yourself—Was Richard, the winner of the tv “Survivor” program, really the person who would have been most likely to actually survive on a desert island? Probably not, but he won because, unlike many of the other participants, he had a strategy, a plan. The first secret is to figure out and implement your own scheme, your own method to succeeding in this class and in college generally. Be something of a gamesman: successful people determine in advance how they are going to approach a task, whether it is cleaning out the garage or impressing a boy or girl or something more academic. Don’t just drift, hoping that things somehow work out by luck or magic or wishful thinking. Figure out your best way of learning and earning (the grade you desire) and then do it.



2) Pretend: One of the most important secrets to success is to learn to “pretend.” You don’t wait till you really truly 100% sincerely feel like getting up in the middle of the night to comfort a crying baby, you just do it. Many things in life are like this, from marriage to praying. If you wait to be “sincere” you may never get anywhere. “Pretend” to be a better student than you think you really are: always come to class on time, “act” like or imitate students who get A’s and somewhere along the line you will discover that you have reinvented yourself. A priest friend tells me that this is even true of prayer: if you pray every day, even if it feels fake, you will discover down the road that you are different. Don’t wait for sincerity to strike you like lightning—to pray “sincerely” or wait to start a diet or an exercise program until the stars are all perfectly aligned-- or you may never get where you want to go, which is the classical definition of freedom.



3) Pleasure: On the other hand, right attitude can be crucial. To do some th
things, perhaps all the really important things, well, you must enjoy the experience. Helping people in trouble, kissing a pretty girl, playing with a toddler, for example: if you just do these things as a means to an end, you are likely to come up short. Many students seem to come to the university with strictly extrinsic motivations—that is, they want to get “certified” with the credentials (such as a diploma) required to get a good job and thereby live well materially. These are not bad goals. The problem is that learning, like marriage, is so fundamentally experiential that it must be approached with intrinsic as well as extrinsic motivation. If you marry a girl whose company you do not enjoy just for the extrinsic goal of having grandchildren in your old age the chances are it will not work. The final secret I want to share with you is that to succeed academically you must enjoy the experience of the library and books and computers and lectures and seminars, that is, of learning. This should not be difficult because, as Aristotle said, there are only two intense human pleasures: doing and thinking. If you do not learn to enjoy thinking you have blown off half the human experience.

~The problem is that some students, perhaps because of too much extrinsic motivation in public school, come to us associating learning with “work”. This is unfortunate, because if you approach the university experience as a chore or a duty, something to get through, somewhere along the line—regardless of how strongly extrinsically motivated you may be—you can easily find yourself sleeping in, missing class, forgetting to do assignments, and the next thing you know, you are asking, “Do you want fries with that?” If this is you, if you have not yet learned that learning and thinking are fantastically pleasurable, go back to the previous secret: for the time being, pretend. The first time you tasted salsa or iced tea maybe you had to pretend to like it so you did not hurt your mother’s feelings but then, one day, you notice, Hey, this stuff is good! In particular, if reading—the single most important academic skill—is not yet fun for you, take a first step of doing some reading for pleasure every week. Read a Harry Potter novel, for instance. Allow yourself to experience the pleasure of it. At first you have to pretend a bit, to act as though it is more fun than it actually seems to be. If you keep at it, though, in a few months you will find that you are different. You are beginning to enjoy reading. Once you begin to take personal pleasure in reading, you will read more and read more insightfully. As that happens, you will (as if by magic) become a much, much better student. If I could share only one secret with all incoming freshmen, this would be it.

~This dance belongs to the Murut’s tribe of Kuhijaw (Kwijau). The "Magunatip" word is derived from the "apit" word, which means "trapped". In this dance one must master and show their agility and dexterity in jumping and putting their feet between the clapping bamboos without being trapped. This dance does not usually require any instrumental music because the rhythmic clapping and stamping of the bamboos produce a loud, harmonised, beat and interesting sound or rhythm. This dance is usually performed to highlight any festive occasion .


~Performed by the young men and women of the Kwijau community in Keningau, Sabah.

~The dance involves jumping steps and the dance is a display of the skill of the dancers that maneuver their feet in and out so as not to get their feet trapped by the bamboo. The 2 bamboo poles are usually approximately 6 feet long and are held by 2 dancers that beat them together and over a shorter length of wood or bamboo creating an interesting rhythm.

~Sometimes there are even 4 poles that are held by 4 dancers. The tempo can be increased to further display the skill of the dancers.

~Among the musical instruments used are the gong and bamboo. Both are percussion instruments that provide the rhythm for the performance.

Hmm . Suppose to blog this post on (10/4/10-Sartuday) , but i damn tired and lazy . Ghost . hha , Okie . On (10/4/10- sartuday), around 1pm , i went out to Stadium Likas
For my Squash practise , it was my sister who drive me there . I arrived there at
1.50pm . As i walked in to the court , i was so shock when i saw there's a boy sleeping there . Well , i dont care much about that though .

During that time , my coach that is named Bryan and the other trainee havent arrived yet , while waitimg for them , i changed my regular shoe into sport shoe and i start to do some warming up .

Soon after that , all of them have arrived . I greet my coach by saying "HAI" to him , he replied my greeting by calling my name "MIKE" and he passed me the squash ball . Then i went to court 3 for my practise .

I start doing my practise with some swing . I feel kinda sad to know that my swing are so bad that caused the ball to fall into my difficult position that for me to hit . These happen becaused my arms dont have enough energy to make a strong swing .

Few minute after that , my coach come to and advise me to control the ball in moderate speed , he also taught me how to service the ball . I also try and do it .
There's was a trainee could played very well , compared to my playing . I'm still no good enough . I feel Jeolous ! Oh man !! Ghost !! hha , i know he is form 5 student , but i dont know which school he is attending .

Then , around 3 something i took a short break . I sat down and take my water to drink it and resting my self . As i rest , i heard my coach give out order to the other trainee to do jumping movement 500 times . Ghost! Those trainee imediately complain they are too tired . Well , it is expected becaused they are only primary student .

MY coach then told them that playing squash is not an easy task , he also said that the girls have more improvement then the boys , then he shouted at the girls to jump more faster . Inside of me , i feel like laughing already , but i sympatize them also . Around 4pm , our squash practise have ended . My dad come to fecth me home .

Today (11/4/10 - sunday) i didnt go to practise . I alreday sms my coach to inform him my absent today . I dont feel like going to practise today and to add more my whole body is in pain . Then around 12 something pm , my cousin come to my house and catch a movie with me . So we went to watch movie together . It was funny to watch movie with her , caused while she was watching , she keep saying that her tears is about to faling down . I laughed at her sensitivity . hahahaha! Thats all . ~This is the signature hawker dish of Penang. A simple plate of stir fried flat noodles with seafood, egg, bean sprouts, chilly and soy sauce.
Now anybody can fry noodles but it's that special combination of taste and spices that makes it so special.




~Char kway teow, literally "fried flat noodles", is a popular noodle dish in Malaysia and Singapore. It is made from flat rice noodles (called Shāhé fěn or hé fěn in Chinese) fried over very high heat with light and dark soy sauce, chilli, prawns, cockles, egg, bean sprouts and Chinese chives. Sometimes slices of Chinese sausage and fish cake are added. It is fried in pork fat, with crisp croutons of pork lard, which give it its characteristic taste.

~Char kway teow has a reputation of being unhealthy due to its fat content. However, when the dish was first invented, it was mainly served to labourers. The high fat content and low cost of the dish made it attractive to these people as it was a cheap source of energy and nutrients. When the dish was first served, it was often sold by fishermen, farmers and cockle-gatherers who doubled up as char kway teow sellers in the evening to supplement their income.



~Recipe for Char Koay Teow~

~INGREDIENTS~

400 gm koay teow (flat rice noodles)
250 gm bean sprouts
4-8 stalks chives - cut into 2cm lengths
250 gm vegetable oil or lard - cut into cubes
6 eggs
300 gm prawns - shelled
3 garlic cloves - chopped
3 tsp ground chillies or sambal olek
3 tsp light soy sauce
3 tsp dark soy sauce
Pepper to taste
HINT: Wok must be on high heat. To make it a truly authentic dish, cook and serve each dish individually. Use enough oil so the noodles won't stick but not too much or the char koay teow becomes greasy. You can also add 'kecep manis' or sweet soy sauce for added favour.

Makes about 6 servings. You can add in any vegetables of your choice, I find choi sum tastes best.

~Prepare garlic oil:

~Heat oil or lard, add garlic and remove only when fragrant
Set wok aside for frying
Prepare noodles:

~Heat 2 tsp garlic oil (see above)
Add prawns or/and vegetables, chillie - set aside
Add garlic oil, noodles, soy sauce
Mix in prawns or/and vegetables and beansprouts
Push mixture to edge of wok, add a little oil in centre, break eggs, fry and then mix everything together
Garnish with chives and pepper
Serve immediately & hot

~ Taiwan History ~

~Taiwan , also known as Formosa, is the largest island of the Republic of China (ROC) in East Asia. Taiwan is located east of the Taiwan Strait, off the southeastern coast of mainland China. Since the end of World War II in 1945, the island group has been under the government of the Republic of China.

~Separated from the Asian continent by the 180-kilometer-wide Taiwan Strait, the main island of the group is 394 kilometres (245 mi) long and 144 kilometres (89 mi) wide. To the northeast are the main islands of Japan, and the southern end of the Ryukyu Islands of Japan is directly to the east; the Philippines lie to its south. The mountainous island spans the Tropic of Cancer and is covered by tropical and subtropical vegetation. Other minor islands and islets of the group include the Pescadores, Green Island, and Orchid Island as well as the Diaoyutai Islands which have been controlled by Japan since the 1970s and are known as the Senkaku-shotō.

~The island group has been governed by the Republic of China (ROC) since 1945 when the ROC acquired Taiwan from Japan as a result of World War II. Four years later the ROC lost the Chinese Civil War to the Communist Party of China and retreated to Taiwan. Taiwan now composes most of ROC's territory and the ROC itself is commonly known as "Taiwan". The political status of Taiwan is complex because it is claimed by the People's Republic of China (PRC) which was established in 1949 on mainland China and considers itself the successor state to the ROC. Japan had originally acquired Taiwan from the Qing Empire in 1895 per Article 2 of Treaty of Shimonoseki. ~Taiwan's rapid economic growth in the decades after World War II has transformed it into an advanced economy as one of the Four Asian Tigers. This economic rise is known as the Taiwan Miracle. It is categorized as an advanced economy by the IMF and high-income economy by the World Bank. Its technology industry plays a key role in the global economy. Taiwanese companies manufacture a large portion of the world's consumer electronics, although most of them are made in their factories in mainland China.

~ Taipei 101 (Most outstanding shopping centre in Taiwan )

~Taipei 101 (traditional Chinese: 台北101 / 臺北101), also known as the Taipei Financial Center, is a landmark skyscraper located in Xinyi District, Taipei, Taiwan. The building was the world's tallest (with occupiable floors) until it was surpassed in height by the Burj Khalifa on July 21, 2007. The skyscraper was officially the tallest building until the opening of the Burj Khalifa on the 4th of January 2010. Taipei 101, designed by C.Y. Lee & Partners and constructed primarily by KTRT Joint Venture and numerous subcontractors including Samsung C&T[2] received the 2004 Emporis Skyscraper Award and was hailed as one of the Seven New Wonders of the World (Newsweek magazine, 2006) and Seven Wonders of Engineering (Discovery Channel, 2005).[dead link][3] The tower has served as an icon of modern Taiwan ever since its opening. Fireworks launched from Taipei 101 feature prominently in international New Year's Eve broadcasts and the structure appears frequently in travel literature and international media.

Taipei 101 comprises 101 floors above ground and 5 floors underground. The name of the tower reflects its floor count and carries symbolic meanings alluding to technology and Asian tradition . Its postmodernist approach to style incorporates traditional design elements and gives them modern treatments. The tower is designed to withstand typhoons and earthquakes. A multi-level shopping mall adjoining the tower houses hundreds of fashionable stores, restaurants and clubs.

Taipei 101 is owned by the Taipei Financial Center Corporation (TFCC) and managed by the International division of Urban Retail Properties Corporation based in Chicago. The name originally planned for the building, Taipei World Financial Center, was derived from the name of the owner. The original name in Chinese was literally, Taipei International Financial Center (traditional Chinese: 臺北國際金融中心; pinyin: Táiběi Guójì Jīnróng Zhōngxīn).

Lok Kawi Wildlife Park, Sabah, Malaysia

~Lok Kawi Wildlife Park (or Lokkawi Zoo) is located at old Penampang-Papar road, about 15km from Kota Kinabalu city.

~The visitors can see Borneo and Malaysia wild animals such as orang utan, proboscis , monkey , Asian elephant, rhino, hornbill birds, tiger, etc.

~The Lok Kawi Wildlife Park was officially open to the public on the 17th February 2007. It is located along the Penampang-Papar old road and is fully developed by the Sabah Wildlife Department.

~The park consists of two components: zoological and botanical. The main objective of the park is to become a family-oriented park and the emphasis is put on the Children’s Zoo.

~Among the inhabitants of the zoo (zoological component) are the Borneo Pygmy elephants, Sumatran rhinoceros, Orang Utan, Proboscis monkey, Malayan tiger, as well as some different species of deer.

~The botanical component, on the other hand; offers visitors the opportunity to go jungle trekking along the botanical trail. The paved trail is about 1.4 kilometers long. However, for leisurely strolls, visitors are only advised to walk halfway along the trail.

~Tariffs~
~Lok Kawi Wildlife Park is open for the public daily from 9.30a.m to 5.30p.m. Entrance fees charged are as follows:Children RM5 Adults RM10 (Malaysian) and RM20 (non-Malaysian).

~My opininon~

~In the past, I always wonder why Borneo never has a zoo of its own, since we have been telling the world that we have rich variety of wild plant and animals. We also enjoy making the mouth of our tourists open wide, with the number of blah blah species we have in Borneo. Whatever, all this impressive facts sound more like a number. Nobody really knows what are the “content”. Many locals don’t even know what are pygmy elephants and proboscis monkeys. At last, we have a “Lok Kawi Wildlife Park”. It is a good start, though it is not only showing animals that are native to Sabah.

~If you said Lok Kawi, I would think you mean the road between KK International Airport and Kinarut. Later I figured out the Lok Kawi Zoo is actually next to the Old Penampang road. If you follow the road from KK to Dongongon town, just go straight after you passby Dongongon town, after nearly 10 minutes, you will see its signboard at your left side. About 18 km from KK, but very near to people live in Penampang.

~. I went there on this year in last february and there were 30 to 50 cars parked there at any time. To see what are in their zoo, you may Check out the Trail Map I got with the ticket.The fee i already clearly explain in front my blog this . the funny things is i go with my cousin them then when we want to pay the fee , suddenly my cousin ask me "How old are u"? I said im 17 years old . hha . The staff also believe in me so thats i just need pay RM5 with my 1 small kid cousin . hha . Thas was so funny . Caused my face kinda look like A secondary student again . hha .

~What they have? They have birds, deers, orang utan, proboscis monkeys, civets, elephants, ostrich, hornbills, tigers, otter, rhino, etc. They also have a Botanical garden, but I haven’t explored it. For serious visitors who want to learn something, it can be a full day trip. However, they don’t have restaurant or cafe shop in the park to provide lunch. Overall, the facilities and trail are well planned. For bigger animals such as tiger, they have an allocated open space, and the visitors can see them from a viewing shelter, which is equipped with fans and description board.

~They also have elephant ride (for children below 12 only) at 10.30am - 11.30am and 3.30pm - 4.30pm . I personally think that morning is the best time to visit. Coz in the hot afternoon, most animals would become tired and sleepy, hiding in shaded area, no mood to move already.

~Overall, the park is well done, but I have a few suggestions:

1) Provide more shaded area for the animals

Lessons on LifeThere was a man who had four sons. He wanted his sons to learn not to judge
things too quickly. So he sent them each on a quest, in turn, to go and look
at a pear tree that was a great distance away.

The first son went in the winter, the second in the spring, the third in
summer, and the youngest son in the fall.

When they had all gone and come back, he called them together to describe
what they had seen.

The first son said that the tree was ugly, bent, and twisted.

The second son said no it was covered with green buds and full of promise.

The third son disagreed; he said it was laden with blossoms that smelled so
sweet and looked so beautiful, it was the most graceful thing he had ever seen.

The last son disagreed with all of them; he said it was ripe and drooping
with fruit, full of life and fulfillment.

The man then explained to his sons that they were all right, because they
had each seen but only one season in the tree's life.

He told them that you cannot judge a tree, or a person, by only one season,
and that the essence of who they are and the pleasure, joy, and love that come
from that life can only be measured at the end, when all the seasons are up.

If you give up when it's winter, you will miss the promise of your spring,
the beauty of your summer, fulfillment of your fall.


Moral lessons:

-Don't let the pain of one season destroy the joy of all the rest.

-Don't judge life by one difficult season.
-Persevere through the difficult patches and better times are sure to come some time or later

Here's one of my lame stories which happened at scotland.
once again, i'm nt myself so the way i write it might be #%%$&...

It was durin the spring break, collin & i stayed over at my fren, Les' house.
we did crazy,stupid things back then.

-Went for swimmin at night for no fucking reason.
-Climbed up to the roofs of the garages and jumped down.
-Climbed up a muddy hill inside some-unknown jungle and sliding down on a piece of cardboard.
-Playing rugby on the streets, when there were cars.
-Broke into a prison

haha, those were the days.
anyway, back to the prison story, lame but TRUE .

We saw this abandoned prison near Les' house so we decided to break in for a visit. To break into the prison, 1st we had to go through the barb wires. then we went through the main doors and got in. We went inside, the floor was messy, dirty and papers & pieces of metals could be seen. It's just like those CSI series, when the inspector breaks into the those warehouses and find stuff lying on the floor.

Then, we walked past many rooms through the hallways, proably the inmates' cell. Then we looked into one particular room, it was the canteen. I can't really remeber anything about it since it was dark. We saw a staircase. From the bottom, I could see the upperfloor was dark and kinda spooky. Collin wanted to go upstairs. Les was just looking around the rooms.

Suddenly, we heard "BANG" from the other end of the hallway. My heart panicked, WTF, what could that be? We saw a man, holding something (think it was a gun/weapon) looking at us. I couldn't see properly as I'm short-sighted, but I could see his mouth moving, kinda like muttering to himself. He looked furious.

Then, we felt something wasn't right. So we all quickly escaped and run out of the prison. WTF, what the hell happened in there?



•Was the man, a real person?
•If yes, what was he doing in there?
•Where did that "BANG" came from?

Hai Everyone.Im mike leE.Ati college student.

Going make own blog now.
Called by our English lecturer "Ms Freda" to do it. Honestly i like her class much. ^^Everyweek must do presentation infront our class room, but really make us more improved in our pronunciation. Just simple introduced something to u all about english class.

Today?Hmm.10.40am starting my 1st lesson that is"INTHI" class. When 1st time i enter this class,"Wauh"this word that can i symbol it. haha. The class room full of it student.Caused,mix with our senior student thats why full. The lecturer is "Mr Ramesh".He look so funny this. haha.He also share with us last time his working experience.That Nice^^.

1.45pm?Afternoon time already.Prepare go "WTG" lesson at MELUR class.Lecturer was "Mr Romy". Aiya, this subject really want to use our brain to thinking only. DAMN! Hmm, i not so understand also about the lesson Caused my mind dunno think what that time.Think want back only this.haha.At least i get it something information also in this subject.

YAhUUUUU.. Done class!!!!! Time to back!!!! Today i back my other house at "Beverly hills".

I with my other classmate taking a bus from Gaya street to terminal bus located at wawasan plaza somewhere.hehe.Then reach already taking Luyang bus.

When reach home,rest a while and find something to eat.^^

4.30pm my friends call me go taman play basketball with them. AUHHHH!!!! I miss my buddy so much. Long time din play together. hehe. My friends all also still a 'Sekolah Menengah' student, while only me a college student.^^ Playing until 6++pm just back home.hehe.

At night take shower, eat dinner then watch Tv.Around 9pm my mum bring me go KDCA hall caused there got many Chinese New Year equipment to bought. When reach there, outside there them put and decorate the Chinese zodiac that is "Dragon". When we walk into the place already, many things still not ready yet such as the "Fun Fair" eqipment.Exhibition of 12 Chinese zodiac also be display out 1 by 1 then in the at every zodiac also been written their history.^^ I will show some pic take have i taken.
